Deepa Magge, MD, is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She earned her bachelor degree and MD from Boston University where she was part of their seven-year medical program.
She completed her General Surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Following completion of surgical residency, she remained at UPMC, where she completed a fellowship in Complex Surgical Oncology. Following fellowship, she was an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Surgical Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. She served as the Associate Program Director of the CGSO fellowship and focused much of her time on teaching residents and fellows. She moved to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in September 2020, where she currently leads the HIPEC program and serves as an Associate Program Director of the General Surgery Residency. She is the current Chair of the PSM DSWG for SSO and is a Section Editor for JSO.
