Dr. Aditya S. Shirali is a graduate of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he earned his MD with Distinction in Research in 2013. He completed his general surgery internship and residency at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2020. After completing his fellowship in Surgical Endocrinology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Shirali joined the faculty at the University of Florida College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in 2022. He currently serves as the Section Chief of Endocrine Surgery and the Co-Director of the University of Florida PheoPara Alliance Clinical Center of Excellence. He also leads a translational research program focused on the contribution of aging biology on the development of endocrine tumors. He is the principal investigator on multiple funded projects, including grants from the National Institute on Aging, the American Thyroid Association, and the Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center. His clinical practice focuses on the surgical management of thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal diseases, with dedicated expertise in complex endocrine surgery.
