I am the Physician-in-Chief of the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. I also serve as Professor and Chief of Surgical Oncology at the University of Nebraska. I earned by BA in History and Medical Science at Boston University where I stayed on to complete my MD. I completed a residency at the University of Cincinnati. During my residency, I took a three year sabbatical to earn a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Physisiology. I then joined the Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. My clinical care focuses on the treatment of patients with soft tissue sarcomas and melanoma. My basic science/translational focus is in creating a porcine model for pancreatic cancer. I am also am involved in designing and implementing clinical trials that will benefit our patients in the future and serve as the PI of SWOG 2015.
