David Shibata, MD, FACS, FSSO, FASCRS is a renowned colorectal surgical oncologist, currently the Harwell Wilson Alumni Endowed Chair in Surgery, Professor and Chair of the Department of Surgery and Executive Director/Chief Medical Officer of the UTHSC Cancer Program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He is known for his expertise in multidisciplinary cancer care, research, and leadership roles with organizations like the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). Dr. Shibata previously held significant positions at Moffitt Cancer Center and Harvard/Beth Israel Deaconess. Dr. Shibata is an internationally recognized authority in the multidisciplinary management of colorectal cancer and brings significant expertise in minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgical approaches. He also has extensive experience in the management of patients with early-onset and hereditary colorectal cancers.
