Heather Lillemoe, M.D., is an assistant professor with a dual appointment in the Departments of Breast Surgical Oncology and Surgical Oncology (Sarcoma Section) at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She completed General Surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2021 and went on to complete a fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at MD Anderson from 2021-2023. She stayed on at MD Anderson as faculty where she has a practice treating patients with breast cancer and soft tissue sarcoma. She specializes in sarcomas of the breast, including angiosarcoma and phyllodes tumor. She participates in clinical research and is heavily involved in clinical education both in a research and leadership capacity. She serves as the Resident Program Director for Breast Surgical Oncology and is an Associate Program Director for both the Breast Surgical Oncology and Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowships.
