Dr. Khakpour graduated Emory Medical school in 1999 and completed general surgical residency at the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Bayolor College of Medine in Houston, Texas. She then completed breast surgical oncolgy fellowship at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She was recruited to the University of Maryland as the chief of breast surgery. She then relocated to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida in 2008 and continues her care in treatment of breast cancer patients, teaching students and fellows and clinical research.
