Roger Olofsson Bagge, MD, PhD is a Professor of Cancer Surgery at the University of Gothenburg and a Senior Consultant Surgeon at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. He leads a translational research group focused on advancing treatments for melanoma and breast cancer, integrating clinical innovation with laboratory-based research. His work includes regional cancer therapies, the integration of immunotherapy, and translational models aimed at improving patient outcomes.
He plays a key role within the Sahlgrenska Comprehensive Cancer Center and is affiliated with the Wallenberg Centre for Molecular and Translational Medicine. He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed scientific publications and is actively involved in international clinical trials and the development of clinical guidelines.
In addition to his academic and clinical responsibilities, Professor Olofsson Bagge mentors doctoral students and coordinates interdisciplinary research collaborations across oncology, surgery, immunology, and translational cancer biology.
