Dr. Ching-Wei Tzeng, MD, MS is a Professor of Surgical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, specializing in the treatment of hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) cancers. He is currently the Department Vice Chair for Education and HPB Fellowship Program Director, after previously serving as Vice Chair for Clinical Operations. He is the Chair of the SAAS Scholarship Committee and Vice Chair of the AHPBA Program Directors Committee. His research focuses on perioperative quality improvement, cancer surgery standards, and patient-centered opioid reduction clinical trials, for which he was named a 2021 Andrew Sabin Family Foundation Fellow. Dr. Tzeng is an educator dedicated to the training of fellows, residents, and students, and serves as Vice Chair of the institutional GME council. He has been recognized with the University of Texas Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award in 2021, and Department of Surgical Oncology Graduating Fellows’ Teaching Award in 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2025.
