James van Bastelaar is a surgical oncologist at Zuyderland Medical Center in the Netherlands. He specialized in surgical oncology (head and neck, breast and melanoma) and gastro-intestinal (colorectal) surgery. In 2018, he obtained a PhD on seroma formation after mastectomy in breast cancer patients. Current research focusses on complications after breast cancer surgery and the improvement of surgical procedures for melanoma patients.
