I am an Assistant Professor of Medicine and medical oncologist at Duke Cancer Institute in Durham, North Carolina. I have a strong interest in the development of immunotherapies and researching interactions between cancer and the immune system, as well as improving the care of cancer patients. I predominately treat gastrointestinal malignancies including colorectal, esophagogastric, and pancreatic cancers.
I graduated from the University of South Florida with my MD, where I also acquired my Bachelor's degree in Microbiology with Honors. I then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA and a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Duke University prior to joining faculty. I conduct laboratory and translational research on immunotherapy, immune evasion and metastasis in colorectal cancers using mouse models and human studies.
