Vinodh Kumar Radhakrishnan, PhD, is a Project Scientist-2 in the Department of Surgery at the University of California, Irvine. From 2003 to 2008, under International Brain Korea 21 fellowships, Dr. Radhakrishnan collaborated with leading South Korean universities, conducting research on anticancer compound screenings for various cancers and focusing his PhD research on the molecular aspects of treatments for advanced lung cancer using histone deacetylase inhibitors. For over 14+ years (2008–2022), Dr. Radhakrishnan worked as a visiting and senior postdoctoral scientist in the Molecular Medicine Department at City of Hope National Medical Center and Loma Linda University, school of medicine, both National Cancer Institute (NCI)-recognized cancer centers in California. During the COVID-19 pandemic (2019–2022), he served as Senior Lead Scientist for the Department of Molecular Medicine & Bioinformatics at VENBIOTECH, India, helping to build a next-generation biotech company based on green chemistry principles and the selection of natural compounds to treat aggressive tumors. His expertise encompasses human genome sequencing and genome variant analysis related to human cancers, growth hormones, triple-negative breast cancer, lung cancer, gastric cancer, mitochondrial disorders, epigenetics, methylation, exosomes, and gene-drug matching for precision and personalized medicine. He currently focuses on curing metabolic disorders including cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular, neurological, and immune-related conditions, with special emphasis on developing prognostic and early predictive tools for clinical decision-making in patients with advanced cancer. Dr. Radhakrishnan also trains B.Tech, M.Tech, and MD/PhD students with an emphasis on precision and personalized medicine focus. His goal is to translate benchtop research into human clinical trials through patents and publishable, applicable data.
