My name is Ilaria Caturegli, I am a fourth year general surgery resident at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. I am applying to surgical oncology fellowship this year. I hope to have a successful and productive career as a surgeon scientist innovating patient care through translational research. I am originally from Italy and grew up in Baltimore, MD. I completed my undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania, where I obtained a degree in biomedical engineering. I completed medical school at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and earned a Master's of Medical Science in Clinical Investigations at Harvard Medical School. I completed 2 years of academic development research during my residency training and focused on localized drug delivery for the advancement of patient outcomes in retroperitoneal sarcoma.
