Dr. Ashley Holder is an Associate Professor of Surgical Oncology in the Melanoma Section at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. As an educator and mentor, Dr. Holder is the Program Director and co-Principal Investigator of the NIH T32 training grant in Surgical Oncology at MD Anderson. She is a mentor to early-career surgeons nationally through the Association for Academic Surgery, in which she currently serves as the Treasurer. As a surgeon scientist, Dr. Holder studies the transport of immune cells between the primary melanoma and the draining nodal basin to understand why some patients develop lymph node metastases. Her lab is supported by a NIH multi-PI R01, the American College of Surgeons’ Clowes Award, and one of two inaugural Department of Defense Melanoma Academy Scholar Awards.
