This session will explore the evolving landscape of surgical oncology care in pancreatic adenocarcinoma across the disease continuum, from precursor lesions such as IPMNs and PanINs, to localized resectable tumors, to metastatic disease. Leading experts will present up-to-date evidence and practical strategies tailored to new knowledge at each stage of the disease. Talks will highlight the clinical and therapeutic implications of disease biology and new biological and molecular markers. The session will conclude with case-based discussions to translate knowledge into practical decision-making for multidisciplinary care.

Learning Objectives:

  • Differentiate precursor lesions of pancreatic adenocarcinoma and tailor management to each type of lesion.
  • Integrate evolving evidence on sub-typing of pancreatic adenocarcinoma in sequencing of therapy and extent of surgery for resectable and borderline-resectable pancreatic cancer.
  • Evaluate the role of surgical oncologists in the multidisciplinary management of oligometastatic disease and apply patient-centered decision-making in advanced care scenarios.
