Saad Farooq is a general surgery resident at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and currently a post-doctoral research fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Giorgos Karakousis. Saad has multiple years of translational immuno-oncology experience and is leading translational experimentation for phase 2 trial NCT0375768, assessing biomarkers of response to neoadjuvant pembrolizumab for stage IIB/C melanoma. His broader research interests also include improvement of surgical/oncologic outcomes in gastrointestinal malignancies. He aims to apply for complex general surgical oncology fellowship in the near future.
