A native Texan, Aubrey Swilling received a full academic scholarship to the University of Houston, where she earned a BS in Biomedical Engineering with University Honors. Prior to attending the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, TX, from which she graduated with Honors, she worked as a Research Data Coordinator at MD Anderson Center Center in the Department of Investigational Cancer Therapeutics: the Phase I Program. Following medical school, she matriculated into General Surgery residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. During her professional development time she served as the Department of Surgery's Clinical Research Fellow and earned a Masters of Science in Clinical Research with Honors. She and her husband welcomed their first daughter in December 2025.
