Lily Owei is a PGY-4 General Surgery resident at the University of Pennsylvania, currently in her research development years under the mentorship of Dr. Heather Wachtel. She plans to pursue a career in Surgical Oncology. Her research leverages electronic health record–based tools to improve screening, referral completion, and equitable access to care for patients with adrenal nodules. More broadly, her work examines how technology-enabled standardization and qualitative methods can be used to better understand provider and patient behavior, motivation, and bias, and to design scalable, equity-centered interventions that improve care delivery.
