Jennifer Wylie, MD, MS, is a General Surgery resident at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and a T32 Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer Prevention and Control. A Stanford University graduate and former NCAA Women’s Varsity Diving Team captain, she later earned a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Regis University and her medical degree from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Her academic development work centers on improving palliative care access for oncology patients through Dr. Fabian Johnston’s NIH R01–funded initiative, complemented by additional research on perioperative cognitive health screening and surgical palliative care curriculum development as a Surgical Education Research Fellow with the Association for Surgical Education. Dr. Wylie is also completing a master’s degree in Translational Health System Sciences and will pursue a clinical fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine before returning to complete her surgical training. She plans an academic career at the intersection of Surgical Oncology and Palliative Care, with the goal of dual board certification and a research program focused on advancing oncologic and surgical palliative care.
