Konstantinos I. Votanopoulos, MD, PhD

Dr. Votanopoulos is a tenured Professor of Surgery at Wake Forest University and the founding Director of the Wake Forest Organoid Research Center (WFORCE). He earned his medical degree from Aristotle University Medical School in Greece and a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, completed his surgical residency at Baylor College of Medicine, and pursued advanced training with a Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He is an internationally recognized authority and thought leader in peritoneal surface malignancies, with more than 240 peer-reviewed publications, an H-index of 50, sustained NIH-funded research, and extensive contributions through invited podium presentations and book chapters. His work includes the development of patented organoid technologies with translational and clinical impact.
