Dr. Jason W. Denbo is a board-certified surgical oncologist at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL, specializing in robotic liver surgery and the treatment of complex pancreatic cancer. He has particular expertise in robotic and complex open liver resections and pancreatic cases where tumors are borderline resectable or locally advanced.
Dr. Denbo holds board certification in Complex General Surgical Oncology (CGSO) and completed advanced fellowship training in Hepato-Pancreatobiliary (HPB) Surgery. He currently serves as an Associated Member in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. He earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, followed by a General Surgery Residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a Research Fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He then completed two fellowships in Complex General Surgical Oncology and Advanced HPB Surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Nationally recognized for his skill in minimally invasive and robotic liver surgery, Dr. Denbo is also highly experienced in performing complex pancreatic operations involving reconstruction of major blood vessels. His care approach is multidisciplinary, meaning he works closely with a team of cancer experts to create personalized treatment plans that give patients the best chance for successful outcomes. In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Denbo is actively involved in cancer research, clinical trials, and surgical education. He has published widely in the field of gastrointestinal oncology and plays an important role in training future cancer surgeons.
