Postdoctoral Fellow
Department of Colorectal Oncology Surgery, MD Anderson Cancer Center
houston, Texas, United States
I earned my medical degree in 2012 and began my training with residencies at Tokyo Medical and Dental University Hospital and Ota Nishinouchi Hospital, where I developed my foundation in surgical practice. I further specialized with a surgical fellowship at Tochigi Cancer Center from 2017 to 2019, advancing my expertise in oncological surgery.
In 2021, I completed my Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the School of Public Health at The University of Tokyo, where I also studied clinical epidemiology. This interdisciplinary background has informed my approach to surgical outcomes research.
Prior to joining MD Anderson in April 2024, I served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Minimally Invasive Surgical and Medical Oncology at Fukushima Medical University, where I combined clinical practice with academic research.
I hold numerous professional qualifications, including board certifications from the Japan Surgical Society and the Japan Society of Gastroenterological Surgery. I am specially qualified in endoscopic colorectal surgery by the Japan Society for Endoscopic Surgery (JSES) and hold certifications in robotic surgery, including da Vinci Robot Surgery certification and Japan Society for Robotic Surgery Robo-Doc Pilot Certification.
