Maria Sierra, MD, MPH, is a Research Fellow at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is originally from Ridgewood, New Jersey, and earned her MD/MPH from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Sierra is a General Surgery resident at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine and is currently completing a two-year T32 research fellowship in the Training to Reduce Burden Across the Cancer Control Continuum (TRACC) program under the mentorship of Dr. Neha Goel, Dr. Michael Antoni, and Dr. Erin Kobetz. Her research focuses on the intersection of biologic and genetic factors with social and neighborhood-level determinants of health in breast cancer risk, development, and outcomes, with a particular interest in Hispanic populations.
