My primary research interests focus on applying data scientific principles I learned in industry to the study of pancreatic cancer. I have spent over 10 years working on diverse data science problems ranging from predicting battery life on smart phones, to predicting driving risk from real world telematics data, to creating high throughput data pipelines to process large bioinformatics data sets at a contract research organization (CRO). My work has taught me how to identify data science problems in the wild as well as how to go from ideation through to production deployed models that can be run at scale in the real world. I am excited to return to the academic world and apply my unique industry skill set to a meaningful data set that has been curated at the MCW Cancer Center. I will be looking to apply state of the art AI models including large language foundation models, machine vision foundation models, as well as my data science expertise to create multi-modal approaches to improve pancreatic cancer outcomes.
