Motaz Qadan, MD, PhD, is Surgeon-in-Chief at Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute and a practicing hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgical oncologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Qadan received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Edinburgh Medical School. He completed surgical residency at Stanford University. Following this, he completed a fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Qadan's academic work focuses on clinical outcomes health services research and leads a large group of researchers who focus on methods to collect, analyze, and improve outcomes related to cancer surgery. Dr. Qadan is also an active clinical trial investigator. Finally, he is actively involved in many National societies and holds active leadership roles in several organizations. He has over 250 peer-reviewed scientific articles as well as several book chapters and scientific abstracts.
