Dr. Shannon Smith was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, and is currently a General Surgery resident at Corewell Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She intends to pursue a career in Surgical Oncology. Her current research interests span from hepatobiliary malignancies to melanoma, with a focus on clinical and surgical outcomes research. Outside of clinical and research responsibilities, Shannon enjoys reading/meeting with her book club once a month and exploring local coffee shops.
