Dr. Kangas-Dick is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Homer Stryker MD School
of Medicine at Western Michigan University. She is a GI Surgical Oncologist at the West Michigan Cancer Center with a clinical focus on Esophageal, Gastric, Pancreatic, neuroendocrine malignancies, as well as advanced perfusional therapies for peritoneal surface malignancies and metastatic melanoma. Her research focuses on genomic analysis of HCC, access to care disparities for cancer patients, and surgical education, particularly in building inclusive and affirming learning environments for LGBTQIA+ trainees. She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and St. George's University School
of medicine. She completed general surgery residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, a research fellowship at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, and fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY
