Optimizing Global Cancer Surgery through Community Networks

Although limited access to cancer care is a well-recognized global challenge, there is no universal solution to address it. Effective strategies must be adapted to the unique circumstances of each setting, taking into account factors such as infrastructure, available resources, geographic barriers, and cultural context. This forum provides an important opportunity for global exchange of experiences and best practices, with the goal of improving access to surgical cancer care through the development of community-based networks, explaining how tertiary centers and community hospitals collaborate.

Learning Objectives:

  • Examine different strategies to enhance global access for surgical cancer care.
  • Identify key factors that contribute to the successful adoption of community networks supporting access of cancer care.
  • Discuss opportunities for international collaboration to enhance the implementation of community networks to optimize global cancer surgery.
