Gabrielle H. van Ramshorst, MD PhD (she/her/hers)

Gabrielle van Ramshorst is a Consultant colorectal surgeon at Ghent University Hospital and Associate Professor at Ghent University in Belgium. Her clinical areas of interest include primary and recurrent colorectal cancer, gynecological oncology, and sarcoma surgery. She has authored over 150 peer-reviewed papers on translational research and clinical research with a specific interest in pelvic exenteration surgery, quality of life, sexual function and reconstruction, patient reported outcomes and diversity.

She is the current chair of the International Committee of the Society of Surgical Oncology and is actively involved in the European Society of Coloproctology, the European Network of Young Gynaeco-oncologists and the World Society of Surgical Oncology. Gabrielle van Ramshorst has been Associate Editor for Colorectal Disease from 2020 onwards and is also part of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Gynaecological Cancer. She is a member of the Advisory Boards of the European Society of Surgical Oncology Research Academy and of British Journal of Surgery and BJS Open.
